In February, we had our Bushwick Book Club event celebrating Chris Rael’s collection of short stories, GUILT SPORT. I wrote a song with Ed in response to a short story called “Chivalry.” None of this will make sense to you in any conventional way you might understand “sense.” But luckily, it’s music, so sense-shmense.

The long and the short of it is that I had a great time. Come on, I got to hear tremendous creative minds respond to Chris’ words in new song and performance and art, AND I got to make something with Ed, AND I got to play with Marlon Cherry and Chase Horseman and Ed all at the same time?? AND Aldo and Doug at Howl! supported the whole thing?? That is a version of the promised land that hadn’t been invented until that moment. Milk and honey of this kind makes a girl glad for every birthday.
